Huggie Hoops and Click-Close Hoop Earrings Adjustment Guide

Our huggie hoops and click-closure hinged hoop earrings are crafted for both security and comfort. Occasionally, during shipping or regular wear, the post may shift slightly.

Over time, a snap closure earring can loosen and may no longer click into place as securely as it once did. If you find yourself in this situation, it's time for an adjustment.

The great news is that a quick, gentle adjustment is often all that's needed to achieve the perfect fit! ✨ Here's an easy way to fix a hoop earring closure.

If Your Hoop Earring Is Loose

(It doesn’t click properly or falls out)

1. Check the Post
The post is the thin part that goes through your ear and clicks into the hoop.

2. Adjust the Post Upward
Using your fingers (or a soft cloth for better grip), gently push the curved post slightly upward, in small increments.

3. Test the Click
Close the earring and listen for a firm, secure click. Repeat the adjustment as needed until it feels snug and secure—never painful. If you find that you cannot get the earring to close, you may have pushed the curved piece up too much. Try pushing on it ever so slightly to move it downwards a bit.

If Your Hoop Earring Is Too Tight

(Hard to open and close)

1. Locate the Post
Again, this is the part that clicks into the hoop.

2. Adjust the Post Downward
Gently push the curved post slightly downward, in tiny increments.

3. Test the Fit
Open and close the earring to ensure it clicks securely but opens comfortably.

Helpful Adjustment Tips

💛 Be Gentle — Your fingers are usually sufficient. If you choose to use pliers, always wrap them in a soft cloth and apply very light pressure.
💛 Make Tiny Movements — Adjust in small increments for the best results.
💛 Never Force the Clasp — Forcing it can bend the post or damage the closure.
💛 Daily Wear — It's normal to have to press lightly on the post to close it. That's what makes the post hold everything securely closed.
💛 Regular Maintenance — A small adjustment from time to time will keep your hoop earrings tight and working like new.
